WAHROONGA RESIDENCE: INSTALLING CONFIDENCE
Wahroonga Residence is a generous rental house in Sydney. It has recently been modernised - and Geberit products helped a great deal to achieve the goals of the owners.
THE VISION
“The design vision for this project was to achieve a simple and playful powder room and bathrooms,” says Pouné Parsanejad, principal architect of Studio P, who redesigned this investment property in Wahroonga, NSW. “Being a rental property, it was incredibly important to use products that stay clean for longer and are easy to clean when dirty.”
The owners wanted Parsanejad to modernise their Sydney home with the goal of increasing its rental return and decreasing maintenance. They requested matching flush buttons throughout the bathrooms, so Parsanejad specified the popular Sigma20 White Matt Tone-in-Tone flush buttons. “The fingerprint-resistant technology means the flush buttons always look new and fresh, with minimal maintenance. Easy-to-clean and durable materials were key, and all sanitary fixtures were chosen with this in mind. They needed to last in high-use areas,” she says.
Adam Powell, director of Powell Plumbing, has been installing Geberit concealed cisterns for over 17 years and rejuvenated the powder room and two bathrooms in this renovation. “We didn’t have the height in the hob to suit the Sigma 8 concealed cistern, but since we had the depth, we chose the Kappa Mid Level Cistern,“ he says. “Geberit worked alongside me, advising which products were available to suit the Kappa Mid Level cistern.”
To achieve the flexibility of pairing the durable, leakproof Kappa concealed cistern with the matching fingerprint-resistant Sigma flush buttons, Powell used Geberit’s easy-to-install Sigma plate adaptor. “The Geberit team is always approachable and happy to help, and the installation process was straightforward – it all comes down to planning and following the installation instructions. I have confidence in Geberit and their products, and I am very confident in their warranty program.”
Powell’s preference for Geberit was echoed by the architect, project manager and client. “Geberit has always been extremely helpful, no matter the request,” says Parsanejad. “To be honest, we only use Geberit products in our projects as we know we can rely on them and that they are the highest quality for a good price. All our tradies have always recommended Geberit and everyone on the team agreed it was the best option.
